| Nick De Laine, Director and Founder of ND Lighting
began his career as a TV Cameraman over 20 years ago and quickly progressed
to best boy and then Gaffer. Financing his own small vehicle in
the early nineties, he began building a client base by working on
small to medium budget films and TV commercials. His progression
in the industry occurred as his clients grew larger and secured
bigger budget productions, allowing him to finance larger trucks
with more equipment.
Birth of the ND Lighting Van
In
the late ‘90’s, Nick recognized the lack of service
available to smaller budget productions and so developed a product
designed specifically to service these needs, so the ND Lighting
Van was launched. It was enthusiastically received by the industry
and so ND Lighting sourced new talent in order to adequately service
its growing demand.
Launch of the Mid Truck Packages
As the ND Lighting Team grew, so did our clients’ needs, and
the idea for the Mid Truck Packages materialized. So by mid 2001
ND Lighting was now able to cater to the full range of budgets and
lighting requirements of its clients, enabling the flexibility to
offer the individual packages, or tailor lighting services to meet
specific and ever changing needs.
